WHAT WE BELIEVE
|
WE STRIVE TO DO AND TEACH THESE TRUTHS
1. Seek God's face daily and listen to his voice; 2. Put God first and desire Him above all; 3. To fear God so greatly that we hate sin in every form and love righteousness and truth in all our ways; 4. To seek Christ for victory over anger and sexually sinful thoughts; 5. To take up the cross daily (die to our will to do Gods will),and work out our salvation with fear and trembling: 6. To be full of the Holy Spirit, and to be rooted and grounded in love that nothing can ever move us into an unloving attitude towards another human being, however great the provocation; 7. To acknowledge we are nothing without Jesus Christ and seek to be humble as Christ. 8. To so honor God we teach and do even the least of his commands; 9. To expose human tradition and religious compromise by proclaiming the whole counsel of God. 10. To seek for the revelation of the Holy Spirit on the secret of godliness, on Christ having come in the flesh and opened a new and living way through the flesh; 11. To work hard to provide for our families and for the spiritual needs of others, but can enjoy time with our families and the brethren. 12. To not be ascetics, but to live a disciplined life and not be afraid of hardships; 13. To have no interest in expensive clothing or sight-seeing and to not waste our time in unprofitable activities or our money in unnecessary purchases; 14. To have mastered our desire for fancy foods and to not be enslaved to music or sport or any other legitimate activity; 15. To be faithful and grow when God tests us in the fires of affliction, abuse, tribulation, false accusation, physical sickness, financial hardships and opposition from relatives and religious leaders; 16. To be full of mercy, and to sympathise with the worst of sinners and the worst of believers, and have hope for them, because we consider ourselves to be the foremost of all sinners; 17. To be so deeply rooted in the security of the love of our Heavenly Father that we are never anxious about anything, or afraid of Satan or evil men or difficult situations or anything; 18. To enter into God's rest, believing in the sovereign working of God in all matters for our best and we therefore give thanks always, for all men, for all things and in all circumstances; 19. To find our joy in God alone and to be full of the joy of the Lord, having overcome all bad moods; 20. To be full of living faith, who have no confidence in ourselves or our natural abilities, but complete confidence in God as our unfailing Helper in all situations; 21. To live, not by the promptings of our own reason, but by the leading of the Holy Spirit; 22. To be genuinely baptized in the Holy Spirit and fire by Christ Himself (and not just thrilled by some emotional counterfeit or convinced by some theological argument); 23. To be living constantly under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, endowed with the supernatural gifts that He has given us; 24. To have revelation on the church as the Body of Christ (and not a congregation or a denomination), and to give all our energies, our material wealth and spiritual gifts to build that church 25. To learn to bridle our tongues through the help of the Holy Spirit and to have our tongues aflame with the Divine Word; 26. To forsake all, and not be attached anymore to money or material things, and to desire no gifts from others; 27. To trust God for all our earthly needs and never hint about our material needs or boast about our labours, either in our conversation or through letters and reports; 28. To not be stubborn, but gentle, and open to criticism and eager for correction from older and wiser brothers; 29. To have no desire to dominate or advise others (although ready to give advice when asked for), and to have no longing to be considered as `elder' brothers, or leaders, but to only desire to be ordinary brothers and servants of all; 30. To be easy to get along with, and to be willing to be inconvenienced and taken advantage of by others; 31.To make no distinction between the millionaire and the beggar, the white-skinned and the dark-skinned, the intellectual and the idiot and the cultured and the barbarian, but to treat them all alike; 32. To never be influenced by our wife, children, relatives, friends or other believers to cool off even slightly in our devotion to Christ or our obedience to God's commandments; 33. To never be bribed to compromise, by any reward that Satan may offer (whether honour or money or whatever); 34. To be fearless witnesses for Christ, fearing neither religious heads nor secular rulers; 35. Live to please no human being on the face of the earth, but to offend all men, if necessary, in order to please God alone; 36.That God's glory, God's will and God's kingdom always take priority over mere human need and our own comfort; 37. That we cannot be pressurised either by others or by our own reason into doing `dead works' for God, but be eager and content to do the revealed will of God for our lives alone; 38. To have the discernment of the Spirit to distinguish between the soulish and the spiritual in Christian work; 39.To look at things from a heavenly viewpoint and not an earthly one; 40. To refuse all earthly honours and titles offered us for our labours for God; 41. To learn how to pray without ceasing, and also how to fast and pray when needed; 42. To give generously, cheerfully, secretly and with wisdom; 43. To be willing to be all things to all men, so that by all means we might save some; 44. To have a longing to see others not only saved, but also made disciples of Christ, and brought to a knowledge of the truth and to obedience to all of God's commandments; 45.To have a longing to see a pure testimony established for God in every place; 46. To have a burning passion to see Christ glorified in the church; 47. To not seek our own in any matter; 48. To walk with spiritual authority and spiritual dignity; 49. To stand ALONE for God in the world, if need be; 50. To be totally uncompromising, like the apostles and prophets of old. |
